UPDATE, 7/17/20, 3:30 pm: The Alexander County Health Department has reported that 61 people are in quarantine with COVID-19. There have been six deaths associated with the virus. The agency also advises citizens to wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Sadly, there have been eight (8) deaths associated with the virus.
